Philmont Info

7/4/13 - Our trip went off without a hitch and we had a great time.  We plan to distribute joint photos via DVD to the participants, and give a presentation and look at photos at a future meeting. In the meantime...

Here are the GPS tracks ( near the bottom of this page) that we logged during our 11 days of hiking.  There is one file with all days combined into one file, and separate files for each day. Depending what you are trying to look at, you will need both. The sum of the mileage is 77.7 miles. Download these .gpx files to your computer first.

To see where we went for the whole trip, load CombinedTracks.gpx into
http://www.gpsvisualizer.com/map_input?form=google
You should also see camp locations, etc, by hovering over the icons.

To get an elevation profile for single day, load the file for that day , like 20130614.gpx into
http://www.gpsvisualizer.com/profile_input

You can load all the individual files to see the elevation for the whole trip - hit "Show additional file input boxes" to point to all the files.  The CombinedTracks.gpx file does not work for elevation since the days are not in order in that file.
